This book explains how to insert on computer records of baptisms and births, marriages and deaths prior to 1899 from data gathered by population registers.

Therefore, it explains how to manage all recorded data to transform the abbreviations on original documents into explicative records as, name and surnames, reconstructing missing data and building families by name.

Finally, it also explains how to map family relations out among people present in the database through a particular “track”.

The results obtained can be used for genealogical, historical, demographic, statistical researches, to study the evolution of work and family names or even to satisfy simple curiosities.

Such handbook is aimed at becoming an example to develop the creation of databases on population archives.
